Belizean up and coming songbird – Lexi Logan

This sultry songstress who goes by the name of Lexi Logan is destined to win the hearts of all who hear and see her. Born Edwina Alexandra Logan, she comes to us from the beautiful country of Belize. This singer, song writer, and musician from Belize City, was born on November 28th 1991. At the age of three, Lexi fell in love with singing. By the age of 7 she decided she wanted to be a singer. Having no professional vocal training, she began her tutelage under her very own mother Rose Ponce, who was a local favorite in her day. “She is, without a doubt, one of the biggest reasons I am who I am today both as a musician and a person. She constantly supports and pushes me to do better after every event.” At the age of 12 she expanded her love for music and began writing songs. She currently has well over 64 songs ready to be recorded and shared with the world. At the age of 16, Lexi joined the worship team at church to push her vocals. It was also at this time she decided to take up playing the guitar. She received some tips and short lessons from the musicians at her church. As her guitar playing matured, she reached out to her cousin Leon Banks who is also a singer and a musician. He taught her guitar theory and helped develop her as a musician. During this time, she entered her first singing competition; Festival of Arts, which was held annually in Belize. She sang an original piece and a duet to “No Air” by Jordin Sparks. She won gold for both songs and also received the most promising vocalist of the year award. Lexi went on to perform at numerous events throughout Belize. Then, at the age of 19, she was asked to be the lead female singer of the Belizean Rock band known as The Remaining. Although they are considered a rock band, they are versatile and play various genres of music that range from grown and sexy to the hip and now. When asked how she felt about being in the band and how it has helped her, she said “Being in this band has opened up a lot of doors for me. I’m gaining some recognition in the music industry and I’ve been introduced to many successful musicians, singers and producers who intend to work with me when in the near future. While I’m gaining exposure and exercising my voice to reach all its ranges, I’m continuously working hard at shooting for my goal of becoming a professional singer.” “My musical influences were my mom, my dad and at that time my step-father. They were all musically inclined. The one artist that inspired me was the Mexican-American singer; Selena. Other artists that caught my eye from the US were AvrilLavigne, Demi Lovato and Beyonce. The one Caribbean artist that inspired me more was Tessanne Chin. This was before she became a participant on The Voice. I’d say my sound is more relative to Kelly Clarkson (Alternative), the other would be Rihanna (Pop).” She is humble, beautiful, talented and has a smile that will melt the coldest heart. Now a part of the Wrighteous Entertainment family, Lexi Logan will become an instrumental part of a legacy of great music. Get ready because Lexi Logan is going to take the US by storm!
